Henry
Hudson
III
Henry's musical
experience started like a lot of fellow muscians, at an early age.
Beginning in elementary through high school and on into college.
During his days of playing in
school Henry was exposed to and learned a lot of different types of
music from Classical, R&B, Rock and Jazz.
His professional career started
after college when he joined a popular funk band back in the day in the the
late 70's and early 80's called, "The Mellow Moods." Since then Henry
has worked with Fusion, Mexican, Blues, Rock and Big Bands. His last
band before joining the MilesApart Band was the "Funk Attack Band" which
comprised members of the now defunct and very popular late 80's early 90's
band "Hot Lunch."
In addition to playing saxophones
Henry plays woodwind instruments, keyboards and sings. His favorite influences
in music include the late Grover Washington Jr., Stevie Wonder, Stanley
Turentine, Gerald Albright, Najee and Earth, Wind and Fire. Henry is also
very creative in his composing efforts and is in the midst of putting together
his own CD project and is sure it will be enjoyed by audiences of all backgrounds
and walks of life.
Henry was invited to join the
MilesApart Band at the beginning of 2003 and he gladly accepted the challenge
with the feeling, "he would be an additional energy source for the
passion" that the band itself already exudes in spades! Henry had briefly
worked in a start up band many years ago with Ron Ivory and David Summers,
so it was certainly befitting once he became available some fithteen years
later to reunite with us, exploiting his many talents, ambition and
professionalism and to just have some damn fun with an old friend once again.
"It's on now!"
